NMSG has been cooking with Julia Child for many years, and 2012, the centenary of her birth, was no exception. We produced the latest biography of the legendary culinary diva, Bob Spitz's Dearie: The Remarkable Life of Julia Child, which was published by Alfred A. Knopf during the summer and hit the bestseller lists shortly thereafter.

Julia's life really was remarkable, from her early career in government service to her dedication to the task of publishing a comprehensive guide to French cooking for American readers and her astonishing success as a TV cooking show host during the early years of public boradcasting, a relationship that endured for decades. She also had an enduring—and endearing—relationship with her husband, Paul. These accomplishments are examined in fascinating detail in Spitz's biography, which supplements Noel Riley Fitch's previous Child biography, Appetite for Life (Doubleday, 1997), also produced by NMSG.

In addition to these two biographies of one of the most influential women of our time, NMSG also composed and prepared artwork for many of Julia's own cookbooks, including various editions and reprints of Mastering the Art of French Cooking (both volumes), The French Chef Cookbook, The Way to Cook, Julia and Jacques Cooking at Home, and Julia's Kitchen Wisdom, as well as her own memoir, My Life in France.
