2012 New York Book Show
The 26th Annual New York Book Show was held on March 20, 2012, and North Market Street Graphics received six awards, a personal best for the company. We garnered first place in the general trade category for the adult graphic novel MetaMaus, by Art Spiegelman, published by Pantheon Books. We also produced four second-place titles and a Merit Award book, all in the general trade category.
The four second-place general trade book awards are for Haruki Murakami’s novel 1Q84 (Alfred A. Knopf), Peter Ackroyd’s London Under (Nan A. Talese/Doubleday), Daniel Holzman and Michael Chernow’s The Meatball Shop Cookbook (Ballantine), and Craig Thompson’s graphic novelHabibi (Pantheon). Mark Yarm’s Everybody Loves Our Town (Crown Archetype) was named a Merit Award Book.
The annual show, sponsored by the Book Industry Guild of New York, comprising members from the book publishing and book manufacturing industries, "encourages, recognizes, honors, and celebrates excellence in book production and design." Judges for this prestigious show are selected from among prominent professionals in these industries. The show has consistently recognized NMSG for its composition and prepress work on a wide variety of books over the past decade.
